Aerodynamic beam profiles get the advertising budget while the number that actually changes your racquet head speed goes unmentioned.
Frame drag is a rounding error next to swingweight
Every few seasons a manufacturer discovers air. There will be a cutaway beam, a wind tunnel render, a claim about reduced drag through the swing path, and a price increase. I have no doubt the wind tunnel was real. I doubt it matters.
Think about where the resistance in a tennis swing actually comes from. A racquet head moves through something near ninety miles per hour on a big forehand, and yes, air pushes back on that. But the frame is a thin hoop with a hole in the middle. The presented area is small. The dominant cost of accelerating the head is inertia, and inertia is set by mass and by how far that mass sits from your hand. That is swingweight, and it is a published number that almost nobody looks at.
Two frames can share a static weight of three hundred and five grams and a headsize of ninety eight square inches and feel like different sports. One with a swingweight around three hundred and fifteen will feel heavy and stable and will punish a late preparation. One near three hundred will feel whippy, generate less plough through the ball, and let a tired arm keep swinging in a third set. The aero beam on either one changes almost nothing by comparison.
Where I will concede ground is on the serve, and specifically on the very top of the swing where the head is moving fastest and the racquet is edge on for a long portion of the path. Drag rises with the square of speed, so the fastest part of the fastest stroke is the only place any of this is measurable at all. Even there, I suspect the effect sits well inside the noise from a fresh set of strings.
The uncomfortable part is that swingweight varies between two copies of the same model straight from the factory more than the aero story claims to deliver. Tolerances of five or six points are normal. Professional players have their frames matched to within a point by a stringer with a diagnostic machine, and this is precisely because the difference is perceptible. Retail buyers get whatever came off the line.
So my advice is boring. Ignore the beam. Get three frames weighed and matched by a decent stringer, which will cost less than a single restring at a tournament, and pick your swingweight to suit how long you need your arm to last.
Air is not your problem. Physics you can measure at home is.
